Our guest-house is located in the pleasant town of Sárospatak on the River Bodrog. It has been in operation since 1992. The comfort of the house is maintained by regular improvements. Our place is quiet at night, but the surrounding area offers plenty of exciting possibilities during the day:- castles, libraries, picture galleries, stone collections, waxworks, historical parks, as well as other attractions. Sárospatak has earned the name "Athens-on-Bodrog" because of its great cultural significance in Hungarian history. However, most important is the natural setting, which has remained almost untainted for centuries. On one side of the River Bodrog there are the Zemplén-hills, on the other side there is the great plain. This beautiful and diverse landscape is just waiting to be explored, on foot or by bicycle. A thermal-bath, lying just 100 meters away, provides wonderful relaxation in summertime as well as in wintertime. Its high quality curative water has therapeutic effects, including benefits to the vascular system. In wintertime there are two pools to choose from, in summer there are six. From June 1st 2002 onwards facilities will also include a water slide and sauna. Only 8 miles away there is the town of Sátoraljaújhely. There we find the so-called Magas-hegy (High-hill), which is around 1700 feet in height. A new double-chair lift was recently installed, which currently is the longest lift in Hungary. Within 15 minutes you can get up to the top of the hill, and enjoy the beautiful panorama. On a clear day, one can even see as far as the Tátra-mountains in Slovakia.
