INTRODUCTION: We do not cheat at anybody, we are writing only about the facilities we can provide to our guests to assure their quiet, comfortable and relaxing holiday. We are writing only the truth. Our pension was awarded the International Gold Star Award for "Quality in Tourism" by the B.I.D (Business Initiative Directions) in Madrid 2004. This year we have received for the fifth time the award "For the Flowery Keszthely" which is the award of the Municipality of Keszthely. In 2005 it has been the second time that our Pension was given the award of "The Most Flowery Accommodation at the Balaton" which was established by the Balaton Executive Committee. Would you like to have a holiday in a clean, peaceful, comfortable environment wich is full of wonderful flowers, evergreens, palm trees and other beautiful Mediterranean plants? And what is more the prices are very reasonable. Our Pension is situated 100 m from the Balaton in the street, where the fist villas of the Lake were built. Our 42 m2 terrace for sunbathing, the 150 m2 roof-garden with 50 bushy scrubs and evergreens is unique.

WIRELESS INTERNET

The are two swimming pools (140cm deep each) at the disposal of our guests. The pools have a cover drawn on rails, around them there are comfortable chairs, deck-chairs with matresses and parasols in the midst of flowers. To ensure an even more relaxing holiday buffet breakfast is available on request.

WHAT IS NEARBY? - 2 beaches (approx.10 min.walk), -the city centre, the pedestrian street, Festetics castle, the theatre, the market -the railway station, Balaton Museum -the famous thermal lake of Hévíz, well-known all over Europe (6km) -the medical spa in Kehidakustány which was opened in 2004 (12 km) -the famous wine growing area of Badacsony (in high season with vintage train or boat) -Szigliget (fortress, Eszterházy wine cellar) -Sümeg castle ( traditional performance) -Nagyvázsony The staff in our Pension will help you with information on sights, programmes and dining facilities in the area. The Steinhaus Pension can be found in Keszthely on the corner of Rezgő and Apát streets. From Sopron (Road 84) from the north shore of the Balaton (Road 71) when you arrive in Keszthely at the second set of traffic lights turn left (on the lamp post there is a sign "Steinhause" with an arrow) towards the Helikon Hotel, before the railway lines turn left (also sign shows the direction) our Pension is about 300 m on Apát street. From Graz, through Körmend, Zalaegerszeg, Alsópáhok you can reach Keszthely. At the secound set of traffic lights turn left towards the Helikon Hotel, from there the direction is the same as above. From the south shore of the Balaton when you arrive in Keszthely, go past the baroque Balaton Museum and right after the museum turn right and go ahead as far as the railway station, then to the left, along the railway line on Apát street till corner of Rezgő street.
